Equitable and impactful solutions to local, national and global health challenges.
Our Commitment
HMST connects global, national and community health actors with technical experts to address health challenges with tailored approaches.
Our network of over 600 multi-disciplinary consultants come from more than 80 countries, bringing technical, strategic, management, and facilitation expertise, grounded in hands-on experience.
Each shares our commitment to high-quality processes and outcomes, and a spirit of partnership, continued learning and innovation. We love building diverse teams that draw on different perspectives to addressing complex tasks.
Diverse expertise
HMST partners with governments, development and global health institutions, community stakeholders and civil society to support a wide range of tasks.
We specialize in implementing evaluations, strategy reviews, facilitating planning and design processes, and institutional strengthening. We have provided technical assistance across diverse focus areas including infectious diseases and reproductive health; health systems strengthening; community engagement, gender and health equity; and emerging and evolving areas.
Our multi-lingual and multi-disciplinary consultants deliver fit-for purpose tools, plans and strategies, backed by our team’s quality assurance. We bring extensive experience working with the public, private and community sectors in low- and middle-income countries, including conflict affected contexts.
A dynamic team
We have been growing our team, consultant network and clients since 2018, and continue to learn with each new assignment.
What remains constant is our commitment to working in partnership with our clients and their stakeholders to find solutions that will be embraced and actionable.
Our English and French-speaking team includes health professionals who support our diverse consultants with quality assurance, and to ensure that our clients and our consultants have a great experience working with us.
HMST’s Focus Areas
Infectious Diseases and Reproductive Health
HMST began with a focus on malaria and has since expanded to HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, and increasingly, maternal and reproductive health. We have supported national planning development and review, project design, evaluation, studies and institutional strengthening. We understand the multi-dimensional challenges people face in disease prevention through to diagnosis and treatment, and treatment adherence. Our experts are committed to eliminating diseases and supporting access to services, particularly in low resource settings.
Health Systems Strengthening
Our network includes specialists in procurement and supply chains, laboratory systems, information systems, human resources for health, community systems strengthening, leadership and governance, and health financing. Our consultants have delivered high-level strategies, as well as practical tools to address immediate pain points.
Community Engagement, Gender and Health Equity
Our team and consultants believe that social justice is the key to health equity. We work closely with civil society organisations and their partners to ensure that they are well equipped to create more space for community voices to be heard and have influence. With a commitment to a rights-based and gender transformative approach, we support organisations fighting to ensure that no one is left behind.
Emerging and Evolving Areas
As the global health landscape is changing, HMST is evolving with it. We are connecting the dots between the work we have done to advance universal health care, pandemic preparedness, One Health, and addressing the linkages between climate change and health.
